As a lime producer we always want our products to be of the the very best quality. Be it fired or unfired, as calcium hydroxide or mixed products, as CL80 or CL90, in grain sizes from 0 to 70 mm. But our extensive range of products is no sufficient description of ours; we are primarily characterised by our service. We try to walk in our customers’ shoes, understand processes and find solutions. Be it in technical terms, by individual product specs, logistically, through customised deliveries or in accounting terms and through economic efficiency – Calcis’s services are highly efficient services, typical of SMEs. We are both a full-range trader and a service provider.
EXCELLENT DEPOSITS
High-quality raw material from our deposits in the Teutoburg Forest is our foundation. Carbonate rock with a high CaCO3 share is processed into various industrial qualities. This manifold range of products is used by various industrial sectors.
Even the unfired material is an important raw material, e.g. in agriculture, where our products are used as a nutritious fertiliser or as an important mineral in animal feeds. Broken down to the desired grain size and ground, dry or earth-moist, with an adjustable share of magnesium – we will always deliver what our customers want.
The glass industry uses our unfired lime as a hardness component. For smelting, as network modifiers our Carbocal® products provide the right density and chemical stability.
CUSTOMISED BENEFICIATION
Lime burning is the second oldest trade of this world. The earliest evidence dates from 14,000 years ago, and the Romans burnt lime on an almost industrial scale.
The principle has remained the same, but the processes of turning the CO2-containing rock into calcium oxide at = 900° have changed – especially in terms of energy efficiency. A number of shaft kilns and CID kilns aside, in 2011 a GCR facility was also put on stream whose energy efficiency is world-class.
Our quicklime products are used in almost all industrial sectors, in every corn size and geared to our customers’ chemical and physical specs. In additional beneficiation processes, quicklime is dry-slaked to produce calcium hydroxide. This is our Oxycal® brand family, used in many sectors, e.g. the construction industry and petrochemistry and environmental protection. Our customers come from all over Germany and neighbouring countries.
